In what we call soccer, but in what the rest of the world calls football, a player wore a t-shirt “Sympathise with Gaza” and was punished for it. Two English football teams wore Ukraine colors and that was okay, meaning it’s not “politics” that football regulators are against, it’s certain varieties of politics!

“Europe welcomes Ukrainian refugees — others, less so” It’s difficult for folks to avoid the conclusion that, when white Americans see a Ukrainian, they don’t know until the Ukrainian opens his or her mouth to speak, that the person in front of them is actually from Eastern Europe as opposed to being a Western European/American. When white Americans see people from the Middle East or Africa, it’s immediately apparent where they’re from.
