The UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) regularly publishes a series of maps detailing how things are going in the West Bank and Gaza. We have a June 2020 map of Access Restrictions showing just how little freedom of movement Palestinians have in what is supposed to be their territory.
Note: There are two ways to shrink or expand the map. The first is to use the plus or minus signs in the floating black box that you’ll see on the map. The second is to open the map up as a PDF and to manipulate it that way.
Two other links that might be of interest by one of our members:
This link is to Churches for Middle East Peace which succinctly lists all the ongoing congressional legislation related to Palestine and Israel with links for more details.
And something more cheerful. The Palestinian History Tapestry uses the embroidery skills of Palestinian women to illustrate aspects of the land and peoples of Palestine – from Neolithic times to the present. Be sure to read the introduction, listen to Mahmoud Darwish’s poem on the land of Palestine and follow the timeline with details about each tapestry panel. There is also a link to a list of other history tapestries which inspired the project.
