The 11-day, May battle between Israel and Gaza has altered the balance between Israel and Palestinians generally.
Facing a single enemy that did not differentiate between civilians and fighters, between a Hamas or a Fatah supporter, the Palestinian people throughout Palestine moved past all of their political divisions and factional squabbles.
Also, Israel gets new Prime Minister after Netanyahu is tossed out, but new guy is probably going to be even worse for Palestinians. From a liberal blog:
Bennett is not a real political improvement over Bibi. He’s just as revanchist, just as extreme. He just doesn’t appear to be a crook.
