UN condemns Israeli actions of May 14th as excessive

The shootings by Israeli forces on Monday the 14th that coincided with the opening of the new US Embassy in Jerusalem was condemned by the UN after a vote of 29 in favor of condemnation, two opposed and 14 abstained. The charge was that Israel did nothing to try and minimize casualties, but instead just acted as though Gaza protesters were targets in a shooting gallery. The US and Israel complained that the resolution made no mention of the role that Hamas played. Palestinians were accused of using “Molotov cocktails, sling-shots and burning kites against the ‘horrifying and criminal violence'” that Israel meted out. No casualties were reported on the Israeli side.
