The US Republican Party and Independents are not included in this Mondoweiss conclusion, so it seems only Democratic politicians are affected, but Democratic Party constituents (as opposed to its political leaders) have surpassed the “tipping point” where Democratic politicians are well-advised to either take pro-Palestinian or at least neutral or carefully articulated positions on them. A 2020 University of Maryland Critical Issues Poll found that 49% of Democrats had heard of BDS, and 48% of those who had heard of it said that they “strongly or somewhat” support the movement.
