Who We Are

Our Story

Christian-Jewish Allies grew out of local participation in the Tree of Life Conference in Philadelphia, PA in November 2009. The founding of our group reflects our shared sense of urgency as Christians, Jews, and Allies to strategically work together toward peace with justice in the Holy Land.

Our members identify as Episcopalian, Presbyterian, Jewish, Quaker, Mennonite, United Methodist, Catholic, Unitarian Universalist, Sufi Muslim, and secular.

Since our founding, we have offered workshops and courses and presented in faith-based and secular communities and denominational gatherings. In interfaith teaching teams, we have taught adult education courses in using the Steadfast Hope curriculum, Zionism Unsettled, and most recently Why Palestine Matters: The Struggle to End Colonialism.

Christian-Jewish Allies has sponsored film screenings, book groups, and hosted a range of speakers. We have formed important collaborative relationships with local groups and national organizations. Since 2019, we have been invited to co-sponsor and participate in virtual webinars.

Since 2014 our advocacy efforts have grown. We have developed ongoing relationships and meet with local senators and representatives. Always our focus is to educate and advocate for human rights and justice for Palestinians, calling attention to the U.S. role in providing aid that sustains and maintains systemic injustice and violence towards Palestinians.

Mission Statement

As Christians, Jews, and allies from other faith and secular communities, we work for a just peace in Israel / Palestine. We ground this work in our shared commitment to human rights, which inspires us to speak out against injustices we see in historic Palestine. We steadfastly act to achieve justice and peace through education, networking, and advocacy.

* Our founding identity, affirmed over time as we have grown into a 501 C-3 organization, is rooted in the strategic alliance among Christians, Jews, and allies to come together to educate and advocate for justice, human rights, dignity, and freedom for Palestinians and for the liberation of Palestine.
