Hamas decides any attack on Palestinians requires a response from them

Hamas, in charge of Gaza since 2007, has apparently decided that any attack on Palestinians by Israel, especially in Jerusalem, now requires a response from them.

In May 2021, an Israeli attempt in the Sheikh Jarrah neighborhood in Jerusalem to evict Palestinians from their homes provoked Gaza to launch rockets at Israel. The conflict became a general battle with the whole of the Palestinian people.

Middle East Eye condemned the plan of a Jewish group to sacrifice animals in the Al-Aqsa Mosque. Hamas, The Palestinian Authority and the Jordanian government also condemned the plan. In 1967, it was widely agreed that the Al-Aqsa Mosque should be left alone and that Israeli worshipers should stay out of it. Increasingly, Israeli worshipers are trespassing on Al-Aqsa. Husan Zomlot says that Israel invaded Al-Aqsa on the 15th. Democracy Now estimated the injured at over 160 “when Israeli police used rubber bullets, stun grenades and tear gas on unarmed Palestinians…”

Hamas launched rockets into Israel as a response to the Israeli attack. The rockets were shot down with the Iron Dome anti-missile system, Israel launched attack on Gaza with warplanes, Hamas responded with missiles. Egypt and Jordan condemned Israel.
